About the Global Certificate of Public Accounting

Gcpaweb SUB 0312 Learnmore

The shortage of accountants comes at a time when demand for accounting expertise is increasing. As a global accounting body representing over 48,000 members and students, we are positioned to address the challenge by creating a unique program that provides new entry routes into the profession, creating opportunities for individuals who choose not to pursue a university path, and individuals looking for a career change and eventually meet full membership requirements.

The program stands apart from traditional offerings by taking an outcome-focused approach, emphasising hands-on learning and real-world applications instead of relying on traditional exams. Pitched at levels AQF 7, 8 and 9 It ensures participants not only acquire knowledge but also demonstrate the essential skills and competencies outlined in the global competency framework, equipping them to succeed in practice and meet employer expectations.

For accountants and IPA members, the program provides the opportunity to upskill and advance your professional standing through a range of 50 future-ready, diverse micro-credentials

How is the program different:

  • By offering greater flexibility, the program allows you to learn while you earn, and recognises your prior experience through RPL, enabling you to fast-track your progress.
  • By enrolling in the program, you become an Affiliate member of the IPA, gaining access to extensive resources and professional development opportunities, ensuring continuous support and skill enhancement as a member.
  • The focus shifts from purely technical skills to developing broader competencies, asking graduates to demonstrate their abilities and emerge as job-ready accountants.
  • The program restructures traditional accounting modules into micro-credentials, using technology to offer flexible and affordable learning options, allowing you to tailor your education to address specific skill gaps.
