Association of Accounting Technicians in Australia (AAT) Joining the IPA Group
Dear Members,
The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) has entered into a Heads of Agreement with the Association of Accounting Technicians in Australia (AAT) with a view to AAT joining the IPA Group.
The AAT brand will be preserved and is designed to offer significant benefits to AAT members and build a comprehensive member pathway for students to pursue a career as an Accounting Technician or Public Accountant.
As you may know the IPA has had a long association with AAT and this development we believe will bring enhanced member benefits and support in line with the trends seen in other parts of the world which show the importance of an inclusive and collaborative approach between accounting technicians and public accountants, particularly in support of small business.
We look forward to engaging with AAT members in advance of their general meeting to approve this transition in June 2020.
To be clear this process will follow the example set when the IPA transitioned the IFA (UK) into the IPA Group.
We will provide updates over coming weeks as to our progress.
Yours Sincerely,
IPA Group CEO, Andrew Conway FIPA FFA and Board of Directors
