A note from the CEO
Our centenary provides us with an opportunity to celebrate the successes of our organisation and to look to the future with great optimism.
Since 1923, our Institute has served the public interest and to protect and resource the very essence of our profession – trust. You are trusted advisers and this centenary provides us with an opportunity for us as a community to come together and say ‘thank you’. We want to show our appreciation for all the unbilled hours, the unpaid overtime, the advice offered in times of need and for the support you give to help improve the quality of life of people around you. Our community is stronger because of your work. This has been particularly tested in recent times.
Our repositioning to the Institute of Public Accountants and developing the IPA Group has been the culmination of the previous century. Working to secure recognition, respect, and resonance. Our organisation is now more recognised, more respected and we speak with the voices of more than 50,000 members and students. Put simply we have impact, and we are proud of our collective achievements.
As we look to the next century, we have so many exciting opportunities such as sustainability reporting, technological transformation and building new and exciting educational pathways into our profession. We will continue to advocate for a better deal for small business and we will never lose sight of our core: people. Putting people at the centre of our work as a professional body is fundamental to building a strong and vibrant professional community that will continue to grow and have influence on the quality of life of our members and those you interact with.
Thank you for your trust, for your loyalty and for your commitment to the IPA.
