“The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) and the Association of Accounting Technicians Sri Lanka (AAT SL) entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 9 August 2019 with the purposes to:

• Promote the interests of members of both organisations and the accountancy profession in general; and
• Provide pathways for AAT SL members to IPA (Australia) and IFA (UK) membership.

The IPA is a full member body of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA). In 2015, the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA) UK amalgamated into the IPA Group, IPA members are now automatically receive complimentary equivalent IFA membership.

Full members of the IPA are recognised by the Australian Government as ‘Qualified Accountants’ according to the legislation. Please refer to the below for legislative recognition on the IPA membership.

AAT SL members pursuing IPA membership, please complete IPA Membership Application Form and email to [email protected] with AAT SL membership certificate or letter of good standing for membership mapping and relevant information on membership application fee.

*AAT SL members lodging IPA membership application prior to 30 September 2019 will enjoy waiver of the certificate and admin fee as AU$130.”
